Need to knows:

Shiro means white. When he speaks, it looks like this. He is the ‘human’ half, more polite and serious and concerned with appearances than Kuro.

Kuro means black. When he speaks, it is always in bold. Kuro is the ‘plant’ half, unreserved, more animalistic, he has manners only when he feels they serve his purposes. He lets Shiro keep control most of the time, but has no trouble taking over whenever it suits him.

While the two share a form, they have very different personalities, though over time their traits have rubbed off on one another in odd ways.

Fun details:

• Zetsu has always been a friend and loyal servant to Tobi, perhaps the only person he would call a friend.
• Zetsu must take a period of rest after eating for digestion, the amount of time needed is proportionate to the size of the person he has eaten.
• Zetsu used to eat food, but over time, he has lost his taste for it. Both halves survive solely on human flesh.
• To inspect the skin of the black half, one would find it to be stretched tight over unforgiving hardness beneath. This is because the black half of his body is entirely consumed by the plant - beneath its skin are his roots.
